Apple's VP of software engineering offered a very quotable statement about Apple's design philosophy on the new iPhone 5c and 5s:
That quote really resonated with us here at Lean On. All of us are talented medical students who could have easily joined up with a established consulting firm and continued to charged hundreds or thousands of dollars for advice.
But we didn't want to do that because that's easy, not right. We would just be joining the ranks in the system that favors the wealthy. It doesn't make sense to us that the application process should have such a high financial toll without any guarantee of success. What if you paid $1,000 to a consulting firm, only to realize you didn't get accepted anywhere? You would be short a dream and a thousand dollars. That's a deep hole to be in.
That's why Lean On is here - to change the admissions game altogether. We're making it fairer and more accessible for everyone who has a dream of becoming a doctor. It isn't easy, but it's definitely right.
